Ezekiel 20:12 "I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between me and them"
Luke 23:56 "And they returned and prepared spices and ointments, and rested on the Sabbath day according to the commandment"
Hebrews 4:9 "So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of Elohim, for whoever has entered the rest of Elohim, has also rested from his works as Elohim did from his. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience"
This page is on the subject of the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, a very holy day that occurs every 7th day of the week.
In fact, our weekly cycle exists due to the 7th day Sabbath!
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH was established at the very creation of the world, it was created along with everything else, it has been built into this existence that we know, however many still seek to ignore this day of the creation week that YHWH ordained as special.
The modern world has forgotten this day, and even daily teaches others to forget about it, yet Lord YHWH himself said concerning this day to remember it!
Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day"
If you've taken the time to learn and understand that the Law is not abolished, and that the servants of YHWH are supposed to still strive to keep his will and commandments in love, then that of course includes keeping the 7th day Sabbath of the Father, but since this topic is so important and beneficial, I've given the topic it's own page to be able to focus in on it.
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is a mark for his people, if you love YHWH, and are willing to serve him, then no longer delay in keeping this, no matter what worldly consequence you may think will happen, keep this day now and forever and show your love and faith in YHWH.
Ezekiel 20:12 "I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between me and them"
We have this miraculous existence because YHWH made it, and he made it in 6 days! Such a feat is unfathomably amazing.
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is not a small, minor, or unimportant thing, it is significant.
Many in their blindness see the 7th day Sabbath as nothing important, yet it is and will always be tied to existence, the great accomplishment of YHWH that he is greatly worthy of praise and worship for.
Men missing the greater point may like to talk down this day, and call this day "Jewish" and attach it to a race of people, but the Sabbath day existed long before Yisraeli even existed, and also "Jewish" men are not the only men on Earth that need to rest, all men come from YHWH, and all men come from Adam that 1st man made in the creation week.
It is the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, not "the sabbath of the jews".
Leviticus 19:30 "You shall keep my Sabbaths"
Leviticus 23:4 "These are the festivals of YHWH"
Leviticus 26:2 "You shall keep my Sabbaths"
Ezekiel 20:12 "I gave them my Sabbaths"
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is still on the 7th day.
Going by the week that we know today, the 7th day Sabbath takes place mostly on what we may know as "saturday".
(It is celebrated from "friday" evening to "saturday" evening.)
Various traditions of men, and their false teachings, have confused many people into thinking this sabbath was either abolished, or that the 7th day Sabbath was moved to the 1st day of the week..
However neither of those false teachings are Biblical, and they do not even make sense.
It can't get more obvious that it is foolish to, by the will of men, celebrate the 7th day Sabbath on the 1st day of the week.
"7th day" Sabbath on the 1st day?! Of course not..
To remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy is still a commandment that the people of YHWH remember and keep and it is a sign between them and YHWH and it shows that they love and have faith in YHWH.
The apostle Paul plainly shares within the "New Testament" that there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of Elohim.
He even says let us be diligent to enter the rest so that no ones falls by the same sort of disobedience!;
When you keep the 7th day Sabbath, this not only shows to YHWH your heart, but it also shows your heart to those around you.
It shows that you know YHWH made everything in 6 days and on the 7th day he rested, this displays your faith!
James 2:18 "But someone will say, 'you have faith and I have works'. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works"
In 6 days YHWH made the heavens, the earth, the seas, and everything contained in them, and on the 7th day YHWH rested from his work, and YHWH blessed the 7th day and made it set-apart(holy);
Genesis 2:1 "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them, and on the seventh day Elohim ended his work which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it, because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made"
This holy day is named "The Sabbath of YHWH", here are some examples showing this;
Leviticus 23:3 "Six days shall work be done but the seventh day is the Sabbath of cessation, a set-apart convocation, you shall do no work therein, it is the Sabbath of YHWH in all your dwellings"
Deuteronomy 5:12 "Keep the Sabbath day to make it set apart as YHWH your Elohim has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of YHWH your Elohim"
Sabbath is a word that means rest, in modern Hebrew it is pronounced shabbat(shah-baht).
It's important to realize and understand that the word "sabbath" does not exclusively refer to the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, but is a word with a meaning.
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is not the only sabbath day.
If someone thinks it's the only sabbath day, this will cause a person to misunderstand a variety of places in the Bible, which we of course want to avoid misunderstandings.
(This misunderstanding is built into modern Christianity teachings even, and they distort key scriptures with the confusion. 1 example is their ridiculous teaching that the Messiah was sacrificed on a "friday", and was resurrected on a "sunday" morning. It's mainly ridiculous because it shows a lack of focus on what is even being said in the Gospels, and it displays the psychology of the people when they fail to do something so simple as count to 3 and they sit in false teachings, accepting them without thought, year after year.
Realize, "friday" evening to "sunday" morning does not equal 3 days and 3 nights, it's actually at most only half of the time!)
YHWH also has other set-apart sabbaths that he commanded for mankind as well.
For example, the day of Trumpets, known as Yom Teruah in the Hebrew, is a holy day that occurs once a year, and it is also commanded to be a sabbath.
The day of Atonements, know as Yom Kippurim in the Hebrew, also occurs once a year and it is commanded to be a sabbath day as well where no work is to be done on it.
You can see an interesting modern example of the Yom Kippurim sabbath, Israel quiets down and the usual busy streets become very empty for being city streets.
Another interesting thing to know is in 1973 Israel's enemies that surrounded them launched a surprise attack on Israel on Yom Kippurim, knowing the nation would be keeping their sabbath and even weak from fasting.
(You can learn more about the other holy days and sabbaths on page 11 "Sabbaths & Festivals".)
So now let's ask, how has the 7th day Sabbath slipped away from modern Christians, and has it always been so that the modern Christians taught the Sabbath was abolished?
At a point in history, in the past, men who were claiming to be "Christian" quit obeying YHWH and his Messiah, to keep the 7th day Sabbath, to rest and do no work on the 7th day, and they instead shifted and started to obey certain men.
These certain men, by themselves, nothing to do with truth and righteousness, decided they wanted to abolish the 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH.
However, in truth man certainly can not abolish what YHWH has instituted, and if YHWH blesses something, then no man can take that blessing away!
Their choice to abolish the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH was not due to any scripture, since there is not a single scripture telling us to do anything like that, and this fact can even be seen in their doctrines that they were aware of this and making commandments from their own authority.
It's admitted by them, we don't even have to work to expose them but only look at what they have plainly stated, yet the modern people who blindly follow these doctrines of sin, often will passionately defend them, and will teach others that the doctrines are actually from the Bible, despite the makers of the doctrines themselves originally making it clear they were not, and their doctrines were not set forth because they were trying to follow the Bible.
Records even indicate that those trying to get everyone to stop honoring the 7th day used tactics in order to make it repugnant to the people.
The Messiah and his followers did not do these false practices, but they kept the 7th day Sabbath.
We can see from written history that the group known as Christians kept the Sabbath of YHWH on the 7th day as you would expect them to do, up until pagan rulers made it law to change the practice or else face severe penalties and even be put to death.
In these man-made laws, they make it clear that they fully understood that the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is on "saturday", a different day than they were wanting people to keep special!
Despite these powers within Europe trying to force the abolishment of the 7th day Sabbath and force celebration and worship on the 1st day of the week that they called "sun day", we still have many records revealing plenty of Christians throughout history still kept the 7th day Sabbath just as commanded.
Even when many people claiming to be "christian" accepted "sun day" worship and honored the pagan laws as part of their traditions, there were still those who listened to YHWH instead and did not esteem what may have already became the majority crowd.
For example, records show that the Irish in the not so distant past honored the 7th day Sabbath. The corrupt government powers I mentioned that were leading people to forget the sabbath tried to conquer the Irish, but they failed and could not conquer them, so many corrupt teachings from the Roman empire did not settle in Ireland until later in history.
Today it is easy to assume that the way our society is now is how it has been for a very long time, and mistakenly take comfort in this false assumption that society is normal, but it's not the case, and i tell you we have rapidly degenerated to a horrible state.
They don't want you to realize Christians kept the 7th day Sabbath, they want you to think the modern traditions of the world is what people have done since the Messiah's time on earth.
Many people in the U.S since its creation, even many well known successful people, also honored the 7th day Sabbath as we are instructed.
Abraham Lincoln, 1 of the most famous presidents of the United States of America, said this concerning the 7th day Sabbath;
While things like this are surely interesting, we should be looking at Yahushua the Messiah as our example and not some seemingly "famous" person, and Yahushua kept the 7th day Sabbath.
If we keep the sabbath day because Mr. Lincoln spoke positively of it, and not because Yahushua taught us to keep it and he himself kept it, we are still yet lacking clear understanding.
One of the major recorded laws to try and change the Sabbath of YHWH was by Constantine in the year 321AD.
Looking at history, we can see Constantine was a pagan and worshiped the sun.
There are probably some modern Christians who speak positive of him and are under the impression this was a good guy, and they may say he became a Christian.
Though one should review his actions to decide if he really was a repentant man turning his heart towards YHWH.
It is said he took on a form of Christianity for political reasons, we can see however that even after he supposedly took on Christianity, that he still continued to mint coins honoring his pagan idols.
It is also said those who did not obey Constantine's law would be killed.
Here is some information going over this;
"Unquestionably the first law, either ecclesiastical or civil, by which the sabbatical observance of Sunday is known to have been ordained is the sabbatical edict of Constantine, A.D. 32I."
Chambers" Encyclopaedia, Article "Sunday."
"On the Venerable Day of the Sun ["venerabili die Solis"--the sacred day of the Sun] let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain-sowing or for vine-planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost--Given the 7th day of March, [A.D. 321], Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them for the second time."
The First Sunday Law of Constantine 1, in "Codex Justinianus," lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Phillip Schaff "History of the Christian Church," Vol. 3, p. 380.
"Let all the judges and town people, and the occupation of all trades rest on the venerable day of the sun; but let those who are situated in the country, freely and at full liberty attend to the business of agriculture; because it often happens that no other day is so fit for sowing corn and planting vines; lest the critical moment being let slip, men should lose the commodities granted by Heaven."
Translated from the original edict in Latin, now in Harvard College U.S.A.
(There are better examples from these records that I will try to update with later when I relocate them.)
As you can see above, these are not laws of righteousness, but laws of rebellious pagans, commandments of men.
Also note, YHWH in his Law commands we rest on the Sabbath, even if it's a season to do with farming, saying there is no exceptions even in those cases.
When Constantine pushed the laws for the people to work on the Sabbath of YHWH, there were many people who chose to obey YHWH instead, and did not follow Constantine and his desire to abolish the Sabbath of YHWH and instead make "the day of the sun" a sabbath.
Please focus on that for a moment and think about it.
YHWH's 7th day Sabbath is a sign.
It should be obvious this is plainly about denying the true Elohim, and instead praising the false sun idol that Constantine is fully documented of being involved with, worshiping, and serving.
(In your studies you may notice their sun idols resemble the "statue of liberty" that was gifted to the U.S. from France, and if you look at sun idols from the past you can see many look exactly the same other than the pagans before claimed it was a male.
Many people today seem to be unknowingly paying homage to a giant "light bearing" idol!
As of late it seems like the internet has muddied the water so it's harder to see the resemblance to idols of the past.
While I am at it I'll mention, the "cross" image you see everywhere today within modern Christianity, even being worn as jewelry by them, is also a symbol and tradition of the sun worshiping pagans!
They had the symbol all over their things before the Messiah was sacrificed on such a thing, if he even was put on that exact shape(The scriptures call it a stake/pole and not a cross).
The cross image is something that happens naturally in our eyes when we look at the sun, and we see like rays of light in the shape of a cross, you can try this for yourself, if you have trouble try squinting at various degrees. It also may not show as easily if you suffer from dry eyes.)
Now, 16 years after Constantine ordered that law, at the Council of Laodicea in 337AD, the wicked Catholic congregation officially made it part of their doctrine to teach the abolishment of the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH and instead make "sunday" the 1st day of the week a special day instead, all by their commandments, nothing to do with the word of YHWH.
It is this commandment of men, from Catholicism, why modern Christians today are observing "sunday" as a special day, and teaching others to forget the 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH!
It is confusion.
Many modern Christians may trash-talk Catholicism and act like they are above it and have no part with it, but their congregations/denominations are children of their mother "Catholicism", and keeping her ways, such as the honoring of remixed pagan days in the name of Elohim, instead of honoring the actual holy days of YHWH.
"sunday", the 1st day of the week, these men started calling it
"the lord's day", however, that is not scriptural and is from tradition of men, and not knowing this can alter how you interpret some Bible verses.
The Bible makes mention of "The day of the Lord"/"The Lord's day", yet it is men who twist those sayings to make you think something else.
Read your Bible in context, not twisted up and with dim eyes.
The "day of the Lord" or "The day of YHWH", can refer to the day when he stands up and executes judgment on the Earth, at the end times. The day of YHWH is mentioned multiple times in the bible.
It can also however refer to the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
At Isaiah 58:13, YHWH calls the 7th day his holy day, and at Revelation 1:10 it says John was in the spirit on the Lord's day.
Now from Biblical context, we would take Revelation 1:10 to mean the 7th day Sabbath, because that is what we learn from the Bible.
We know it's not the end time day of YHWH, so we lean towards the other option which is the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
There is nothing about any other day becoming "the Lord's day", it is only men trying to change the meaning and apply it to their doctrines and agendas.
So Biblically know what lord's day refers to, and know that men of the world have started to call "sunday" lord's day, so you have to know the context to be sure what is being talked about, like you will see below.
Now let's look at the record of the Catholic history;
"The Council of Laodicea ... forbids Christians from judaizing and resting on the Sabbath day, preferring the Lord's day, and so far as possible resting as Christians."
Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1899 Edition, Vol. XXIII, page 654.
"Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday [in the original: "sabbato" shall not be idle on the Sabbath], but shall work on that day; but the Lord's day they shall especially honour, and as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out ["anathema,"--excommunicated] from Christ."
Council of Laodicea, c. A.D. 337, Canon 29, quoted in C.J. Hefele, "A History of the Councils of the Church," Vol. 2, p. 316.
So here we see these wicked men making up their own commandments.
By their own commandments of men;
They command that "Christians" not being like the Jews.
They command to not rest on the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, but to do work on it.
They command to especially honor "sunday", the 1st day of the week.
They command to rest on "sunday", but only "if possible", and that this would now be known as Christian rest.
They command that if one is found keeping the 7th day Sabbath, doing as the Jews(Yahudim, those of Yahuda), they are to be shut out from the Messiah.
This should leave you speechless in shock, that such men actually existed to try and change YHWH's eternal Laws.
And what is even more perplexing is the fact that there are millions of modern Christians today who are aware that the Catholic congregation is obviously out of line, and even ridiculous, yet they're not aware that they're following another one of the commandments from that denomination that worships idols and men, and wants to do away with the Word of YHWH.
The last commandment of men mentioned above is also still being kept, it remains in the spirit of the people, for people become hostile and push against a soul when they realize they are honoring YHWH's Word and keeping his Sabbath.
Men are not the ones who will decide who is shut out from the Messiah, such men who ignore the Word and teach men to ignore the Word and disobey what is right, and teach to honor them and their words above YHWH and his Messiah, they will be shut out, and should fall as if dead on their face in fear at the thought of the coming judgment on the proud wicked.
So today, the majority are not certain why they are keeping the 1st day of the week as special while ignoring the 7th day, they're just aware it's the tradition they see being done.
Yet, despite them not knowing for sure why they're keeping their own ways, when the matter is brought up to them and challenged, the modern teachers feel they must do their best to defend their tradition that comes from men, and convince others to serve man and not YHWH.
To try and support their keeping of this "sunday" tradition, they pull out scriptures that really says nothing about the subject, to try and justify their actions, but their arguments are empty since there is no such scripture that says anything like "stop obeying Elohim", or, "abolish the 7th day sabbath", or, "make the 1st day of the week a special sabbath", etc...
Their man-made doctrine is not in the Bible, so they can not pull out anything that really lines up to it, but only attempt to twist.
When we truly consult the Bible, we instead find scriptures going against these wicked traditions and warning us against such things, and warning us how evil men do these things.
The bible tells us to obey YHWH, and remember and keep his Sabbath forever, and to not follow the traditions of men, and to serve YHWH rather than men.
We are told to not add to or take away from his commandments, and the new testament strongly teaches us about wicked men who keep commandments of men, adding to and taking away from the Law, all the while claiming to be righteous even though they were breaking the Law of YHWH and even doing so for the sake of their man-made traditions.
Inside of most modern Christian buildings they have a copy of what they call "the 10 commandments", the 10 commandments that YHWH spoke with his own voice to us.
Modern Christians also like to decorate their houses, yards, cars, clothes, jewelry, and whatever else they can, with references to "the 10 commandments".
So right before their eyes is the Word of YHWH, where he says to Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart, yet they are still choosing to teach and insist that everyone forget and not remember the Sabbath day.
The Word of YHWH is in front of them continually, and they choose to teach others to do the opposite of it.. They have no excuse, they are esteeming commandments of men over the commandments of YHWH our Father.
Beware of "teachers" who will try to mislead you into following them as they honor a wicked tradition that was started by men.
Test them against the Word of the living Elohim, do not test the Word of the Father against the words of men!
Acts 5:29 "Then Peter and the apostles said, it is necessary to obey Elohim rather than men"
I will move on now.
I would like to mention something that is important to be aware of, in modern times where we use accurate clocks, man has changed it to where they say days begin at 12:00AM on the clock, but the creator's days begin when it becomes dark outside.
So while you may hear the 7th day is on "saturday", the alignment of days were altered with modern clocks, so the 7th day actually takes place on part of what the modern world will call "friday" as well.
So, when it becomes completely dark on "friday" is actually the start of the 7th day("saturday").
Some times of the year this can actually happen as early as 7PM on friday, which also means the the 7th day can end as early as 7PM on a modern saturday.
The ancient civilizations that created these names for the modern days of the week also kept their days in this way, it was not only true biblical days being kept like this saying the start was at evening.
At the beginning of the Bible you will see it said, the evening and the morning was the day.
Also, here is an example from the scriptures of YHWH telling us to keep a "day" from evening to evening;
Leviticus 23:32 "From evening to evening shall you keep your sabbath"
Finally, I would also like to mention, for the clearest understanding and expansion of thought, that the word "day" has taken on more than 1 meaning.
Day mainly means day-light hours, which is around 12 hours where it is light outside, but may also have the meaning of the full 24-hour period of light and darkness.
I mention this because being aware of it can sometimes help prevent confusion, and points below put importance on knowing the time within a day.
I will list down some points for this page now.
The Law was not abolished.
The 1st point I suppose should be the fact that YHWH's Law is still important to us and we must obey it.
The Sabbath of YHWH is part of the Law.
Hopefully you already went over Page 1 "The Law, Not Abolished" by now, since it covers this fact.
When you realize the law was never abolished and we still must keep it, then you automatically know this includes the 7th day Sabbath, however I will still continue with points since this subject offers it's own unique points, and as well there are a few things that could be of benefit to mention.
Here is a link back to page 1 "The Law, Not Abolished" if you missed it for some reason;
Paul plainly says the Sabbath remains for YHWH's people.
The apostle Paul has clearly stated that the Sabbath still remains, and for us to be diligent in entering that rest so no one will fall by disobedience, and as well he makes the point the word of Elohim is living and active and we will have to give account to Him;
Hebrews 4:9 "So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of Elohim, for whoever has entered the rest of Elohim, has also rested from his works as Elohim did from his. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of Elohim is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart, and no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him, to whom we must give account"
Keeping the "7th day" on the "1st day" makes no sense.
There is another false teaching which is a big part of "modern" Christianity, and correcting this false teaching can really reveal how empty and fake "modern" Christianity and her traditions are.
It is falsely taught that we should replace the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH with the 1st day of the week.
You may ask, "Why would we do this?", and they say because the Messiah was raised to life on the 1st day of the week.
Please notice that I said "they say", since these confused men are the only ones that say this, the Bible does not say this or support it in the least.
1st off, that teaching makes absolutely no sense.
IF he raised on the 1st day of the week, how does that do away with the Word of YHWH, and what he commanded us to do?
Is it really that difficult to see that when he raised to life has nothing to do with the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, and is an unrelated/different subject?
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is just that, a Sabbath(rest) on the 7th day of the week just like YHWH did during the creation week, and he blessed and made the 7th day holy, and his people keep it continually as a sign.
Messiah's resurrection is a different event from this, and does not change the creation week, and what YHWH has blessed and set-apart.
It does not make sense to celebrate the 7th day rest on the 1st day of the week and goes against obvious logic, especially when the bible says absolutely nothing like this but is just something men have created by themselves.
So please do not listen to these false teachers giving you commandments created by men that break the commandments of YHWH.
2nd, and this is a fatal blow to their modern doctrine, Yahushua the Messiah did not even return back to life on "sunday" the 1st day of the week.
Going by what the Bible says, he raised to life on the late part of the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, what they call "saturday" today.
So, if they were to be consistent with their illogical doctrines they've made up, they should still be keeping the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH on the 7th day of the week!
They're trying to make the claim when he returned back to life is when they should keep it, because they think it happened on the 1st day of the week, but they're not aware that's not the truth, and is just something men say, and is not really in the Bible!
The scriptures NEVER say that the Messiah raised back to life on the 1st day of the week.
The scriptures make mention that people came to his tomb early on the 1st day, and he was already gone.
If you're new to the creators calendar and how to tell time, biblical days begin at dark, which is nothing like modern times where we have invented that days magically start at 12:00AM on man made clocks.
I mentioned this above under information, and this is 1 of the instances that it's beneficial to be aware of that truth.
So when it says early on the 1st day of the week, that could possibly have been as early as 7:00PM on what modern people are calling "saturday".
The people were resting on the 7th day Sabbath in the scriptures before they went to the tomb, and it ended and was actually still what modern people would consider "saturday".
So, this is like a double blow to their false claim against them keeping the day on their "sunday".
Next, I will explain how you know the Messiah did not raise back to life on the 1st day of the week.
It's simple math, and if you didn't know before, you may become disappointed at yourself for failing to see something so simple.
If that's the case, let it be a testimony to you, evidence at how much power traditions of men are having over people, how they're following men and not questioning them despite their ways being error if you have eyes to see.
The Messiah said he would be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights, which equals 72 hours.
He was put in the grave late in the day, before it was dark, so, if he raised exactly 3 days later, it would have been at the same time of the day, no matter what day of the week it was, late in the day before it turned dark.
It would not have been early in the morning hours of a day as modern Christians are teaching, especially not when the sun has risen in the east, like they teach, when the day is actually halfway over according to a Biblical day.
This in itself is enough to show us that if they found his tomb empty early on the 1st day, then that means he had risen on the day before late in the day.
So what is the day before the 1st day?
It is the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
If you're new to these things, then take your time and go back over that simple information until it makes clear sense, and memorize that the creator's days begin when it is dark.
I know it can be confusing at first if you're just now coming out of a godless society that has raised you up telling you days begin at 12:00AM on your clock and you have never questioned that tradition or thought that you had any reason to question it.
There is still more to cover.
There is a misconception that the Messiah died late on the 6th day of the week, what they today call "friday".
So they are teaching that the Messiah died late on "friday", and was raised back to life on the morning of "sunday".
Many even gather together on "sunday", seriously pay attention to the fact it's called "SUNday", to watch the sun rise in the East.
They may call this "sunrise service", or rename it to "sonrise service".
They keep this as a tradition, but where does this tradition actually originate?
This was a tradition of the Pagans, long before the Messiah even came to Earth, gave his life for us so that we may live, and was resurrected!
It has nothing to do with the Messiah or our Father.
This is yet another pagan custom that has been slipped into "modern" Christianity, even through Catholicism.
It does not come from the Bible or the Father, but is actually one of the things taught against!
Now please recall what the "modern" Christians celebrate at that time, they reject Passover YHWH's holy day, and the Messiah was our Passover lamb that saved us from Death, even being put to death on Passover at the perfect time, but the "modern" Christians instead keep what?
The name of their festival they keep is a bad word.
It is the name of an idol, and the festival contains the traditions of the pagans.
Egg laying rabbits are not from the Bible!
Eating ham is not from the Bible!
The name of the idol reveals to us it has to do with the East, and realize modern Christians are gathering to watch the sun come up in the East.
Some Bible translations have wickedly placed the name of that idol in the Bible, deleting "Passover" and instead putting it's name there at Acts 12:4, but Passover is really what is written there.
I will copy and paste from the dictionary;
"Origin: before 900; Middle English ester, Old English ēastre; cognate with German Ostern; orig. name of a goddess and her festival; akin to east"
So, "modern" Christians have not come up with these ideas, they're just repeating history, the history YHWH has revealed to us showing us the error of man, and teaching us to come out of their ways and be holy to him, and keep his ways.
So, stop keeping the customs and ordinances of pagans, and doing as they did in their worship of idols.
Keep YHWH's days and learn of the significance.
Now back on track, as I stated above, they are teaching that the Messiah died late on "friday", and was raised back to life on the morning of "sunday".
They have named it "good friday". Realize that is not from the Bible either, but is their tradition.
This teaching from modern Christianity does not make sense if you believe the scriptures.
It also does not make sense if you believe basic math.
The "friday" to "sunday" teaching does not equal 3 days/72 hours.
At the most it only equals 1.5 days/36 hours.
That is only half of the time..
This nonsense is getting by people because they are just accepting what their false leaders are handing out, and at face value your brain may think,
"oh, friday, saturday, sunday, 3 days!",
when it doesn't work like that.
People are getting this misconception because the gospels say a sabbath was approaching, and that they hurried to bury the Messiah before it turned to a sabbath day;
John 19:31 "Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away"
(Also recall they come to the Messiah and he is already dead, so they do not break his bones, and this is fulfilling scriptures! The Passover lamb was not to have any bones broken!)
So the people who are not really knowledgeable on the Word of YHWH and the scriptures take this as meaning the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
So this is why they say he died on a "friday"!
Because they say, oh, the sabbath was coming up which is on "saturday", so this means the day they're talking about is a "friday".
This is their logic here, but this logic deals more shame back at their doctrines.
Realize this false teaching they use ADMITS that they know the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is on what they know as "saturday"!
So if you come across a person claiming with 1 breath the 7th day Sabbath is "sunday" or that they don't know when it is, but with their 2nd breath claiming they know Messiah died on "friday" because the 7th day Sabbath is "saturday", they are obviously not being consistent!
Anyway, they're not correct in their assumption, the Sabbath mentioned was not the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
The Sabbath mentioned coming up was the Passover's Sabbath.
If one has studied the scriptures, they would know the Messiah was our true Passover lamb, who was being slain at the time the Passover lambs were being slain.
So it is clearly obvious what is being talked about to those who have learned the scriptures, but to those who do not know the scriptures they are seeing something totally different and going along with blind men.
What happens if the blind leads the blind?
1 Corinthians 5:7 "Messiah, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us"
Notice John 19:31 even states that it was a high Sabbath, this indicates it was not the usual 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
So just going by the information we have from the scriptures, he would have actually been sacrificed on the 5th day of the week, what people today call "wednesday".
Let's progress through the days of the week.
If he died and was put in the grave later on "wednesday",
later on "thursday" was 24 hours/1 day,
later on "friday" was 48 hours/2 days,
later on "saturday" was 72 hours/3days.
Here we can see 3 days actually being fulfilled.
Messiah puts importance on Sabbaths after his resurrection.
Yahushua the Messiah is speaking about an event that is going to happen at a time after his sacrifice and resurrection, even after he has ascended to be with YHWH his father in the heavens, and he tells his listeners to pray that their flight may not be in winter, or on a Sabbath.
So to the people saying the 7th day Sabbath is not important for us to observe, and that it was done away with by the Messiah, I like to ask, why did he say that? And would they follow his instructions and pray for that?
If the "modern Christian" false teaching that the law was abolished by the sacrifice of the Messiah was true, then it does not add up that the Messiah is telling his followers to pray they don't have to flee on a Sabbath well after his sacrifice.
As a reminder, the weekly 7th day Sabbath of YHWH is not the only Sabbath, but there are other Sabbath days as well included with the festivals and holy days of YHWH every year.
Matthew 24:20 "Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be"
Sabbaths in the future. (Prophecy that has not even taken place yet)
YHWH has spoken of a future time, which seems to be the 1000 year reign of the Messiah which has not taken place yet, and has clearly said the Sabbaths will still be kept.
Also notice clean and unclean is still relevant, holy and unholy, YHWH's judgments, laws, and statutes.;
Ezekiel 44:23 "And they shall teach my people the difference between the set-apart and common, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean, and in controversy they shall stand in judgment and they shall judge it according to my judgments, and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all my assemblies, and they shall hallow my Sabbaths"
Ezekiel 46:3 "The people of the land shall bow down at the entrance of that gate before YHWH on the Sabbaths and on the new moons. The burnt offering that the Prince offers to YHWH on the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish"
Think about how this could actually be referring to you and people you know today, so let's purify ourselves immediately before YHWH so that our carcasses are not left on display as a testament;
Isaiah 66:22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me, says YHWH, so shall your seed and your name remain, and it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says YHWH, and they shall go forth and look on the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me, for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched, and they shall be a repulsion to all flesh"
Excuses. Don't fall victim to common wicked behavior.
Some people try to say we don't really know when the 7th day of the week is anymore.
There are 2 groups that will say this, those who really are not sure when the 7th day is, and those who grab this quickly as an excuse when they feel they're losing a conversation concerning the keeping of the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH.
They are primarily using this as an excuse to keep "sunday" the 1st day of the week special, or to not have to repent and change anything they're doing.
Some people have trouble being humble, and they must feel like they're always right and never let anyone know they're wrong, so they may make use of excuses like this one so they never have to admit they're doing something imperfect.
So if you're one to have a habit of behaving like that, please take a step back and analyze your behavior, figure out why you're doing it, and ask yourself if it's really in your best interest to do.
Humble yourself like a small child, and admit you're not perfect and always right, if you don't, then you actually are far more likely to be in the wrong.
Self pride is our enemy.
As I mentioned in the point just above, going by their false teachings where they say their "sunday" is the 1st day of the week, then they can use that to determine when they will keep the 7th day.
And if they truly think they do not know when the actual 7th day of the week is that YHWH blessed, they could at least be keeping 1 day as the 7th day to show they want to be obedient, instead of saying they're not keeping any day as a sabbath.
They could at least keep the day that they themselves call the 7th day as the 7th day, which is almost always "saturday".
Finally and maybe most importantly, history records that in the time of Yahushua the Messiah, that they were keeping the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH on what we call today "saturday".
So the modern pagan week, is still in line with the week that was used in those days, so Yahushua the Messiah would have kept the Sabbath of YHWH on our same 7th day.
Also when pagan catholics made it law to put importance on the 1st day of the week instead of the 7th, we can see at that time the people were keeping the 7th day Sabbath on the same 7th day that we have now.
I will update this with records and more info to help make it more clear.
Testimony in language.
In over 100 languages of the world, the 7th day of the week is called "rest".
The Sabbaths were for all of YHWH's people, not just 1 race.
It is often falsely said the Law including the Sabbaths were for Yisrael only, and that they do not apply to for example people in the U.S. who decide to become a Christian. Here is the quick link to the page where I go over that false teaching which is also placed on page 1 so you may have viewed it already;
For the Sabbath, YHWH has clearly said it was for everyone.
YHWH has said for a foreigner to not say they are separate from YHWH's people;
Isaiah 56:3 "Do not let the son of the foreigner Who has joined himself to YHWH Speak saying, YHWH has utterly separated me from His people, Nor let the eunuch say, Here I am, a dry tree,
For thus says YHWH To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant, Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name Better than that of sons and daughters, I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off, Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to YHWH to serve Him, And to love the name of YHWH, to be His servants, Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant"
After the sacrifice, resurrection, and ascension of the Messiah, the disciples expected new converts from the foreign peoples to come to learning from the Sabbath services(learn the scriptures and commandments there).
Now this does not for certain from the wording show he expected them to be resting on the rest day but may just indicate they would have that oppurtunity to learn from the sabbath services, though the rest of the words and context does show they expected people to learn how to behave from the law of YHWH given through Moses, which includes the Sabbaths. So I decided to include this example.
Acts 15:19 "Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the foreigners who turn to Elohim, but should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from whoredom, and from what has been strangled, and from blood, for from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues"
3. Misconceptions and Common Objections
The most common objection I have ever heard is, when people are told that we must not work on a Sabbath, they say that they "have to work"...
Though, they absolutely do not have to work.
They actually have to not work since YHWH has told them not to.
They're the one making the choice to work and making the choice to have to do that work.
Unless they're trying to say they're possessed by something that is controlling their body and making it move around, then they do have the choice to not work on a rest day.
Those using this objection and thinking it's a good enough reason to ignore the word of YHWH shows that the person does not have faith in YHWH and generally lacks the knowledge in the bible since if you're very much aware of what it says, you likely would see why this is a worthless excuse.
This also is choosing money over YHWH.
Oddly, those who do this and choose money over YHWH, likely are blind to the point they don't think about how they have chose money and possessions over YHWH.
Throughout history there are many people and families who were told by evil men that if they kept the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, then they would be killed.
In these events there were many people who refused to break YHWH's commandment, and they were killed with their families whom they loved by these evil men.
Now for these modern people spewing out the excuse that "they can't keep the Sabbath, they have to work", in their last moments at judgment, with the people who were murdered for the sake of the Sabbath standing around them, are they going to use that excuse and expect it to be worth anything?
Are they going to be able to confidently say they "had to work", when often what they're really saying is they "had to work" so that they could keep affording plastic toys for their kids, or keep affording some other vain junk that no one needs, or afford to live like a king? Having a house full of junk food and adornments.
Or that they had to work so they didn't have to bother taking the time to get a different job.
There are people who have never even had or used money, they've never had a modern job where they're servants to an employer and commanded to come in at set hours, yet these people have lived their lives raising families no problem. We can accomplish these things if we truly wanted to and was willing to do what it takes.
They DON'T have to work, it's a choice they made. YHWH's people obey even unto death. It is better to die in this world than to break the command, because if you intentionally break the commands then you truly die, eternally.
These people saying this often will NOT starve to death, they will NOT lose much quality of life, and they likely are having lower quality of life due to not obeying this, and have they even tried surviving by resting on the 7th day?
(Yes, modern Christians are really teaching that people can't survive if they follow the bible!)
They're just refusing to make changes.
There is also laziness involved in these issues and evils they're creating.
So if someone says that they can't live if they keep the Sabbath, then I say to them, how can you live if you don't keep the Sabbath? If you don't follow YHWH the one who holds our lives in his hands.
If they indeed have a job that requires a person to work on a sabbath, then they could simply change jobs and look for another, though they're making the choice not to do such because they may not feel like putting in that extra work to get things straightened out, or they may not want to let go of something they have.
Those who try to act like they're going to starve and all die, they have no faith, because YHWH takes care of his children.
Also, any decent quality of life, is life.
Even if these people would have to reduce their extravagant life, they should still be thankful and realize that is where they're truly at.
If they're poor from obeying, then that is what they are.
If you truly lack something, then ask Elohim for it.
What a great display of a right heart and faith if someone really had to choose being poor or breaking the Sabbath, and they without 2nd thought chose to be poor.
It is much better to suffer than to disobey.
To those who want to bring up their family as an excuse, do you really think you're helping your family by bringing yourself into the wrath of Elohim and asking for curses and death?
Are you really helping your family by teaching them to disobey YHWH and his Messiah and do the opposite, and that it's perfectly okay to do such? And to make excuses as if they will make it okay to sin?
Such teachings produce individuals who do not practice self control and do as they please. The end result is sorrow and death.
It is a misconception that Yahushua the Messiah broke the commands for the Sabbath of YHWH.
It is sometimes taught by modern Christians that he broke it and practically mocked others about it in a proud way.
This is obviously not true, and another good example of twisted modern Christianity can be.
I will go over every accusation against the Messiah on a new page I am working on which will go over all of the accusations like that.
The Messiah never sinned, and it should be obvious since he was the perfect blemish free lamb!
The Pharisees accused him of breaking commandments, but they were being blind and obeying "rabbinical law", which is commandments of men.
Yahushua the Messiah was breaking the commandments of men, and the Pharisees were saying it was sin, when it was not.
Yahushua knew exactly what was lawful to do, while the Pharisees had more restrictions in mind.
I will mention this here, it is very common for when modern Christians hear that someone is keeping the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, they assume you are in the denomination "7th day adventists" and sometimes will keep bringing that denomination up repeatedly.
This can be very bothersome in my experience and distracting from the Truth.
The 7th day Sabbath of YHWH has nothing to do with that denomination.
The sabbath of YHWH has been around since the 1st week of the world, founded by YHWH, that denomination was around since 1863AD, founded by men.
Like other denominations, the adventists have their own set of beliefs they stick to, and they are not in line with the Truth(I am speaking generally, not everyone is the same!).
They generally do not even keep the sabbath of YHWH as we were told to, so they have the name 7th day adventist, yet the denomination is teaching to transgress the sabbath command.
They also have a prophet that they put importance on that proved to be a false prophet.
So it does not make sense to keep calling someone a 7th day adventist if they're obeying the creator, and obeying the Messiah, which has nothing to do with any denomination of men.
When Moses brought the children of Yisrael out of Egypt and they all kept the Sabbath of YAH, did that make them "7th day adventists"?
No of course it didn't, so if that can be so obvious, it should be obvious that you shouldn't focus on some unrelated denomination so much when you see someone obey YHWH when he said rest on the 7th day, forever, and it will be a sign between him and his people.
4. Further Information
I had a few frequently asked questions placed here, but removed them for now.
I am no authority or judge, I am a fellow brother who is trying to do my best as well, I do not want to speak further than the Word.
I will list random tips if I think of them.
Since you can not make a fire on the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH, this means you can not smoke a cigarette. If you're addicted, you can purchase smokeless electronic cigarettes to fulfill your addiction. Though it is best you stay far away from cigarettes, and addictions in general as they cause you to become their slave.
If you want to have a Sabbath day meeting, but don't really have anyone to do it with, you can join an online Sabbath session.
Tom at EliYah.com does this every saturday around 12pm Eastern Time.
He goes over some scriptures, everyone can leave questions and comments to him by clicking a link on the page and it does not interrupt the broadcast, and he also takes phone calls.
Tom also may have a broadcast on other Sabbaths and not just the 7th day Sabbath of YHWH which can be nice for many people.
Here is the link to his broadcast page;
Michael Rood also does a 7th day Sabbath of YHWH broadcast every friday at 8pm eastern time which he likes to call Shabbat Night Live.
I can't find an exact link yet, though the ones I tried to watch before looked like mostly him trying to sell things which is not good on the 7th day.
So approach this one with caution.
These are just examples that I know of, you can seek out your own people to congregate with over the internet, and even do it yourself with friends and family over voice and video chat.
Enjoy the Sabbath with your family.
I may set something up like this in time.
5. Scriptures Related to 7th day Sabbath of YHWH
This isn't a complete list yet.
Genesis 2:1 "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them, and on the seventh day Elohim ended his work which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made, and Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made"
Exodus 16:23 "And he said to them, This is that which YHWH has said, Tomorrow is the rest of the set apart Sabbath to YHWH, bake that which you will bake today, and boil that which you will boil, and that which remains over, lay up for you to be kept until the morning. And they laid it up till the morning as Moses instructed and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. And Moses said, Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to YHWH, today you shall not find it in the field, six days you shall gather it but on the seventh day which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none. And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day to gather it, and they found none. And YHWH said to Moses, How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws? See, for that YHWH has given you the Sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days, abide you every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. So the people rested on the seventh day"
Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set apart, Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YHWH your Elohim. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the foreigner who is within your gates. For in six days YHWH made the heavens and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day and made it set apart"

You shall keep the Sabbath therefore, for it is set apart to you, every one that defiles it shall surely be put to death. For whoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest set apart to YHWH, whoever does any work in the Sabbath day he shall surely be put to death. Therefore the children of Yisrael shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Yisrael forever, for in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed"

Numbers 15:32 "While the people of Yisrael were in the wilderness they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day, And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation, They put him in custody, because it had not been made clear what should be done to him, And YHWH said to Moses, The man shall be put to death, all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp, So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as YHWH commanded Moses"
Deuteronomy 5:12 "Keep the Sabbath day to make it set apart as YHWH your Elohim has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of YHWH your Elohim, in it you shall not do any work, you nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your sojourner that is within your gates, that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you. Isaiah 56:3 "Do not let the son of the foreigner who has joined himself to YHWH say, YHWH has utterly separated me from his people, neither let the eunuch(man that can't have kids) say, behold I am a dry tree. Jeremiah 17:19 "Thus says YHWH to me, Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Yahudah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Yerusalem, And say to them, Hear you the word of YHWH, you kings of Yahudah, and all Yahudah, and all the inhabitants of Yerusalem, that enter in by these gates, Thus says YHWH, Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Yerusalem, Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do you any work, but hallow you the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
And it shall come to pass, if you diligently listen to me, says YHWH, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein, Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Yahudah, and the inhabitants of Yerusalem, and this city shall remain for ever.
And they shall come from the cities of Yahudah, and from the places about Yerusalem, and from the land of Benyamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, to the house of YHWH.
But if you will not listen to me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Yerusalem on the sabbath day, then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Yerusalem, and it shall not be quenched"

There dwelled men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the Sabbath to the children of Yahuda, and in Yerusalem, Then I contended with the nobles of Yahuda and said to them, What is this evil thing that you are doing, and polluting the Sabbath day? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the Sabbath"
