His Word is Truth

Unadulterated Biblical Truth

title

There is a false teaching coming out of modern Christianity that teaches men are fools for being circumcised, and calls them mutilators of flesh and attacks circumcision.
I have even seen Christians ask if they would go to hell if they were circumcised.

They seem to forget
Yahushua the Messiah was circumcised, as well was most all the men throughout the scriptures after Abraham.

Circumcision was not from man, it was from
YHWH, the one who made the flesh and foreskin. To attack circumcised men and the practice of circumcision is blasphemy to Yah.

There is a mistranslation of a verse from Paul that men get the word mutilation from, but that is still no excuse for their strong words.
Even the Youngs literal translation does not translate exactly what the Greek says. You can look at the Aramaic Bible and see that it specifically does not translate the word as mutilator.
Here is how the verse should be I think, I will study into the Greek more and update;

Paul;
Philippians 3:2 "
Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for the false circumcision, for we are the true circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of Elohim and glory in Messiah
Yahushua and put no confidence in the flesh"

This was always true, you could be circumcised in the flesh and it was of no value unless you was also circumcised in the heart.

Paul was speaking on the spiritless men who were putting confidence in the flesh and they were ignorant of true righteousness. Their circumcision was sadly in vain.

Also;

Paul;
Galatians 5:2 "Behold, I Paul do say to you, that if you be circumcised, Messiah shall profit you nothing, and I testify again to every man circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law, You are severed from Messiah you who would be justified by the Law, you have fallen away from grace"

Please understand what I say very carefully... If men were being circumcised for salvation, then they were debtors to the entire law, meaning, if that is how they chose to gain salvation then they could not screw up in any single part of the law.

That was not the true gospel! See how Paul starts his letter to Galatians;

Paul;
Galatians 1:6 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Messiah and are turning to a different gospel"

We are saved through the loving kindness of YAH through his son, we are still required to keep the Law but we are eternally pardoned as long as we do not want to break the Law even though we may stumble in some parts of the law during our life, as long as we repent and are sorry right away when we stumble.
Breaking the Law intentionally and wanting to break the Law, is different than truly not wanting to break the Law and then slipping up.
To transgress it intentionally is wickedness and you are not pardoned any longer(Hebrews 10:26).

So many use the above verse out of context to teach circumcision must be avoided by Christians. First off, circumcision is in the law and if you break the law, and teach others to break the law, then you will be called the least in the kingdom of the heavens(Matthew 5:17). We must not continue in sin if we want pardoning for our former sins.

Paul was circumcised;
Paul;
Philippians 3:4 "though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also, If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more, circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Yisrael of the tribe of Benjamin, a Yisraelite of Yisraelites, as to the law, a Pharisee, as to zeal, a persecutor of the assembly, as to righteousness under the law, blameless"

Paul himself circumcised others, if circumcision was so bad why would he seemingly contradict himself and do it to someone for ANY reason?;
Acts 16:3 "Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek"

Paul himself said there was a great benefit in circumcision, surely you can see that contradicts the modern Christian understanding;
Paul;
Romans 3:1 "What advantage then is there in being a Yisraelite, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of Elohim"

Paul also taught circumcision is of benefit as long as you keep the Law, and if you do not keep the Law your circumcision becomes uncircumcision, which has always been true! We must be circumcised in the heart as well as the flesh, if we are only in the flesh it is of no value, we learn that all through the "old testament", Paul even quotes a scripture just before of a time when Yisrael was breaking the Law and not circumcised in the heart, and bringing a bad name of Yah among the Gentiles,
so see that Paul said if you break the Law your circumcision becomes uncircumcision;

Paul;
Romans 2:25 "For circumcision indeed does profit if you practice the Law, but if you transgress the Law your circumcision becomes uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keeps the righteousness of the Law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? Then the uncircumcision by nature who keeps the Law will condemn you who have the written code and circumcision but are a transgressor of the Law. For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical, but a Jew is one inwardly and circumcision is a matter of the heart by the Spirit not by the letter, his praise is not from man but from Elohim"

Here are words from YHWH our Elohim himself;
Genesis 17:1 "When Abram was ninety-nine years old,
YHWH appeared to Abram and said to him, I am El Shaddai, walk before me and be flawless that I may make my covenant between me and you and may multiply you very greatly. Then Abram fell on his face and Elohim said to him, Behold my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations, No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be Elohim to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their Elohim, and Elohim said to Abraham, As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations, This is my covenant which you shall keep between me and you and your offspring after you, Every male among you shall be circumcised, And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin and it shall be a token of the covenant between me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or bought with your money from any stranger who is not of your offspring, He that is born in your house, and he that is bought with your money, must be circumcised, and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised male whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people, he has broken my covenant”

I personally am confused on all aspects of circumcision still but I would never be caught uncircumcised after knowing it is the will of YAH that his people are circumcised, and I would never teach another they should not be circumcised, however I would never tell someone they were saved from circumcision.
Some may say the above command was for Abraham and his children only, the Hebrews, but any gentile that is saved through the Messiah is adopted into the family of Abraham, which makes them a seed of Abraham. The promises were made to Abraham.

Paul;
Galatians 3:29 "And if you be Messiah's, then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise"

Another interesting thing to know is Messiah represented the passover lamb, and we have a command from the Torah that no uncircumcised shall take part in it. We can take part in Messiah while we are still uncircumcised but I think the command may still bear some significance. A gentile can not keep all of the commandments unless he is circumcised;

Exodus 12:48 "And when a stranger shall sojourn with you and will keep the passover to
YHWH, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it and he shall be as one that is born in the land, for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof"

But there is no temple right now, so we can not make the passover sacrifice currently. But we can break unleavened bread and let it represent the body of Messiah so we can indeed still take part in eating the Passover lamb sacrifice.
