His Word is Truth

Unadulterated Biblical Truth

Common Objection: "That's the old covenant!"

This objection is often mentioned by people to try and say that the law was done away with and made obsolete by the new covenant.

It is common for them to mention YHWH where he says that he will make a new covenant, and also they bring up Hebrews 8:13 which says;

Hebrews 8:13 "In him saying new, he has made the former old, Now that which is growing old and enfeebled is near of vanishing"

(This translation is true to the Greek ..
http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/NTpdf/heb8.pdf .., some bibles like to translate this verse a little different and more harshly)

The first thing to address for this misconception is they usually claim Hebrews 8:13 says the law of YHWH with it's commandments is made old/obsolete and is near of vanishing.

However it did not say Law, but it says the former Covenant is being made old/obsolete.

There is a difference between YHWH's law and YHWH's covenant.
The covenant was about his law, but the covenant was not the laws themselves.
Covenant means an agreement, it does not mean law and commandments.

The Word of Elohim is not waxing old or becoming obsolete.
YHWH actually said in the new covenant we will have his law written on our heart! So, this new covenant is not a lawless covenant, and it is plainly stated right in the description of the new covenant.

So they are using verses from Paul to say the law was made obsolete, yet Paul numerous times teaches people to do certain commandments, and has clearly said the law is not obsolete multiple times.
You have seen this fact if you read page 1 and also the point on Paul there.
It would not make sense to think Paul is saying the law is obsolete here in his letter to the Hebrews after he already told us to keep it numerous times.

The law is not fading away until the heavens and the earth pass away as Yahushua Messiah, the son of YHWH has told us;

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law or the prophets, I have not come to do away with, but to fulfill, for truly I say unto you, until the heavens and the earth perish, a single letter or a single dot will in no way perish from the Law until all happen"

The Bible says that the heavens and earth will actually pass away and be replaced with a new heavens and earth, and this will happen sometime after the Messiah has reigned on the Earth for 1000 years, which is soon to happen, but has not yet happened, it will also happen after the Satan has been thrown into the lake of fire. You can read about those details in Revelation chapter 21.
Also for another quick note, the law will still be kept during the 1000 year reign and I cover that under the point of law in the future on page 1 as well.

In order to not fall victim to this modern Christian misconception, we need to know what the covenants are.
Most modern Christians do not know the covenants exactly, and can not even answer what the new covenant is correctly.

I am not trying to make anybody look bad, I am pointing that out because I want them to realize that they're repeating these teachings, and they haven't even taken the time to study into it themselves and even know what the covenants are before they tried to use this as a valid reason to reject the law of YHWH and go around telling those who obey to stop obeying.

The 1st covenant was, if we do everything that YHWH commands us to do, we will be his people and he will be our Elohim. That is the 1st covenant;

Jeremiah 11:3 "Thus says YHWH Elohim of Yisrael, Cursed be the man who does not obey the words of this covenant which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt from the iron furnace saying, Obey my voice and do everything I command you and you will be my people and I will be your Elohim"

Now some time after the giving of the 1st covenant, Yisrael turns away from YHWH and his law and become very wicked.
He warns them to return to him or else he is going to destroy them and send who is left over into slavery to a foreign nation.

During the time of him sending his prophets to try to bring them back to serve him and keep his law, he reveals a new covenant that he is going to make with Yisrael and the house of Yahuda.
Now, this is the New covenant;

Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold the days come, says YHWH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Yisrael and with the house of Yahuda, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt which my covenant they broke although I was an husband to them, says YHWH, But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Yisrael after those days, says YHWH, I will put my Law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people. And they shall no more teach every man his neighbor and every man his brother saying, Know YHWH, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says YHWH, for I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more"

That is the new covenant, and it is not a lawless covenant, he says that he will write his law in our hearts.

He was very angry with Yisrael for not keeping his law, and in context we should understand he would not be angry that they would not keep his law no matter how much he tried to turn them back to it, and that he would not kill most of them, and then abolish his own law that he was so angry at them for breaking.

So those who don't have his law in their hearts and are aggressive and rude towards the law, should quickly realize that according to the text they're not even part of the new covenant they are trying to hide behind.

Paul quotes this new covenant at Hebrews 8:8 and clearly says that the law will be written on our hearts.

The old covenant is ready to fade away because it is no longer needed since this new one has better promises.
It fulfills the old one, it is similar to the old one but with better promises for us.

Hebrews 8:13 "In him saying new, he has made the former old, Now that which is growing old and enfeebled is near of vanishing"

Read it again now so that you see more clearly that it doesn't say the law is obsolete, but rather just the fact the 1st covenant is old and not needed since there is a new better covenant for us.

When Paul mentions the new covenant in Hebrews chapter 8, where he clearly says the law will be written in our hearts just as YHWH said, Paul just a couple chapters later, in chapter 10, tells us that we can not sin and be lawless or else we do not have pardoning of our sins through this new covenant!;

Hebrews 10:10 "And By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Yahushua the Messiah once for all time. And every priest stands daily serving and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices which can never take away sins, but this man after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of Elohim, from now on expecting until his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he has perfected forever them that are set apart, whereof the Holy Spirit also is a witness to us who says, 'This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says YHWH, I will write my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more'. Now where pardoning of these is, there is no more offering concerning sin"

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins"

The Truth is clear and not hidden when you actually read the whole text!

Sin is breaking the law of YHWH, this is made known through the "old testament", and the "new testament" makes it clear as well;

Romans 3:20 "By the law is the full knowledge of sin"

Romans 7:7 "I had not known sin but by the Law"

1 John 3:4 "Whoever commits sin breaks also the law, for sin is the breaking of the law"

Also in his letter to the Hebrews in chapter 4 verse 9, Paul comes out and clearly says we still must keep the 7th day Sabbath and for us to be diligent in entering it so that we do not fall by disobedience, and as well that the word of Elohim is living and active;

Hebrews 4:9 "So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of Elohim, for whoever has entered the rest of Elohim, has also rested from his works as Elohim did from his. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of Elohim is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart, and no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him, to whom we must give account"

So if he said the law was done away with in chapter 8, Paul would be very contradicting, telling us to keep the law of YHWH in chapter 4, then turning around saying it's obsolete a few chapters later in 8, and then saying yet again we must keep the law of YHWH a few chapters after that in 10 or else we are no longer pardoned by the sacrifice of the Messiah..
Paul is not contradicting, only the thoughts of the people who have not circumcised their hearts and set out to learn and be true are contradicting with their twisted interpretations of the apostle Paul!

s the disciple peter warned us;

2 Peter 3:15 "Even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written to you, as also in all of his letters, speaking in them of these things which are some hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable twist as they do also the other scriptures to their own destruction. You therefore beloved seeing you know these things before hand, beware for fear you also are led away with the error of the lawless and fall from your own steadfastness"

Enter the real new covenant, not the satanic imposter that says you are perfect and can do whatever you want, and that you do not need the Word of YHWH.
